I did use my Cameo to cut out eggs and bunnies . . . but an egg & bunny-shaped punch, or good ol' scissors would work, too - just not as cool or as fast!
I have a lot of strips of my 180 lb. watercolor cardstock that I use for cardmaking because of the odd size of the sheets - so I trimmed some down to tags. I just had to round the corners . . . I can't help myself. Then, in a big change from previous projects, I glued down the various pieces AND let them dry. Woot woot, I can learn new tricks!
Then, I headed over to the trusty sewing machine to add a little line of green grass - my stitch was set to a width of 5.0 and length of 1.5. Turned out perfectly, if I do say so myself! This would be harder to do by hand...but a fun squiggle with a green paint pen might be just as lovely.
To keep the stitching in place, I flipped all the cards over (BEFORE cutting them apart) and spread a thin layer of glue on the bobbin thread. The tags measure about 3 1/2" x 2". And see, there is plenty of room to write a message on the back if you don't want to add something to the front - I'm still debating what to write, and where. Ah, the difficult decisions I am faced with on a daily basis!
Punch a hole, add some nice yarn for a tie, and then find a cute little basket to give away with the perfect finishing touch! These tags turned out just exactly like I wanted them to - always a relief when you've been planning something for weeks!
I made some with a swirly paper and they look cute, too. Kind of like marbled fudge . . . boy, am I missing my chocolate.
And here are several more redundat (but gorgeous) pictures of my new little tags . . . I'm working on a semi-permanent photo set-up, and I almost got the light right today. Almost.
I think I like the book backdrop - it's a vintage stamp collectors guide... full of cool pictures in addition to these pages and pages of tiny, tiny text.
And if you must have these, but simply don't have the time to make them for yourself, I am selling sets of 6 at my shop - and shipping is FREE!
