The bottom shelf holds my bobbins, a couple of fat quarters, and a pretty cup to hold bits and bobs as I'm sewing.
I love the middle shelf - it might be my favorite (maybe because I made it!!). The cool sewing print is from a great store in Bemidji, MN called the Yellow Umbrella. One of my dreams is that someday, I'll have stuff at the Yellow Umbrella. I also have a great turquoise stamp featuring my latest craze - pennants! Got that out of the $1 bin at Michaels. And, my trusty measuring tape (it needs to be out of reach of little people, or I lose it for weeks at a time). The two cups in the background are failed projects - not nice enough to sell or give to others, but they'll work for my work space :)
The top shelf is one whole box on its own - I didn't secure it in any way, so don't sit at my sewing table during an earthquake. The Yellow Umbrella provided me with yet another amazing sewing print - I just LOVE that store. I keep my pins up here because they have proven irresistible to the kiddos. I rolled up the feed bag until I can decide what to do with it, and I made myself a little sachet of my own to sweeten the air as I sew. That great metal bin on top holds the three fat quarter bundles I've got all picked out for my 3 FQ Patterns. It was only $2.50 at Hobby Lobby - they are having a great clearance sale this week!
It makes me SO happy to sit down and SEW now - not that I didn't enjoy it before - I love sewing. But this view is so much better than what I had going on before...
Have you made-over any areas in your home? I'd love to hear about your successes (and your failures - hey, those can be funny, too!).
